Me too I'm treading water here. Its hard to find a person who deals in this type of coinage. There 1 or 2 dealers on the bay that deal with this type. One I trust is from Thailand. Its really seems to be a gamble if your going to get something from that part of the world. There are a lot of fake fantasy coins floating around.
At this point I am just happy I was able to acquire something authentic, let alone a rare variation noted in the newest source. These coins are clearly not widely available and I sure the collector interest in them is relatively low.
I find it fascinating that these coins so large and of such purity when compared to the coins of other contemporary empires. So little is known about these people and a lot is derived from the few digs in the area in the last century. A few inscriptions is all that exists of their language.

What is known about the city it was struck in that it had several fortresses each spaced "a days march apart" across central Burma, according to Japanese and British forces circa WW2.

Analysis of the site destruction of the city around 600 AD.

Here is a cool video from youtube it shows the ruins and some of the items recovered.

Sel glad to here you are looking to acquire one of these coins. It is probably the first time I ever read some say that. HA HA.

I can recommend http://www.coincoin.com Scott Semans here in the US. He is probably the most knowledgeable person I can think of. He has an offering not located on the site. "You know for those special coins" at one point he has a small 2 gram Conch/ temple specimen in amazng quality. I looked at it but was committed in too many directions. I regret it and might consider asking him about it. I recommend you ask him for a scan of his offerings.

Also I would like to recommend Robert S. Wicks book on the subject.
