I just received this AE-18 of Caracalla from Parion/Parium in Mysia. I bought it because the reverse legend had me completely mystified and I had to have the coin in hand so I could figure it out.

I've identified it according to emperor, city and reverse type, but haven't found this coin listed in any of my references or online, so I'm asking for help with an attribution number and any further information on the coin.

OB: Laureate head of Caracalla, right - ANTONINVS PIVS AV

REV: Artemis (or Ceres - I've seen both listed) walking right holding two torches - C G I H P A "Colonia Gemella Julia Hadriana Pariana"

It's 18 mm. and 3.65 grams.

Thanks for any assistance!

In the eBook by the author Io. Christ Rasche with the title:

Lexicon universae rei numeriae veterum et praecipae graecorum ac romanorum praefatus est Chr. Gottl. Heyne, Volume 2

d) Caracallae. 7. ANTONINVS PIVS AV.
Huius caput laureatum.
)( C.G.I.H.P. Ceres cum face.
AE 3. R. Guff.IV.p.90.n.
8.) Vaill.Col.II.p.39.

This is an old book (written before 1800) but your coin was known then, so hurry ... off to check in BMC (see you in a week)

Note: (The Latin text translates to)
This laureate head / Ceres with torches
