Just re-check a roll of proof 1962 nickels and found two from the same die that shows a nice DDR. A class 2 distorted hub example. I don't have a number for it yet, just found them a few minutes ago. How I missed it? It happens.   |

Awesome.... I got a few similar but not the same, the more spread ones like yours turned out to be triple dies did you zoom all the in to check if it a triple die reverse like but not necessarily ... the WDDR-132 I think I see the third under it very close doubling here is a link to similar example http://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/shop/view/953Edited by OcalaFlorida

Just the area next to the rim was affected and only on the devices in this area. I was looking for a machine doubled example from the same year and found an interesting one, but stumbled on these two.

Honestly, I wish I kept some of those questionable specimens from early on. In my mind's eye I see DDOs of opportunities lost. Luckily you still had the coins to catch on a second pass.
