Sounds interesting. Just not long time ago wrote about limiting myself.
The last time "First of its kind collection/offer" was about BoC gold coins and it was very attractive.....lets see, what did they have this time. (suspect that again, NCLT set, might be from different mints)
Quote: They 'found' 30,000 glass lady bugs in the back of the vault?
I would love to see the poop-storm that would ensue if the RCM took a page out of the Perth Mint's book on a coin like the glass ladybug..
Not long ago Perth Mint announced that it would be reminting old 1990s-early 2000's 1 oz Kookaburra bullion coins up to their allocated maximum mintages for each date. Many of those older dates HAD large collector premiums over the bullion value due to their low mintages (100's of thousands, some in the 5-figures IIRC). Apparently there was some provision in the law that if those bullion coins didn't meet the maximum mintage in any given year, they could still be minted to demand in later years.
Obviously that really angered those who spent a lot of time and paid very large premiums for the older Kookaburra dates. But it was very newbie friendly in that it gave them quick, easy and cheap access to the "older" dates.
My second guess is that it's a commemorative coin of The Fonz on water skis jumping over a shark, on a background of a sea of discarded purple coin boxes ;)

How about the first coins ever to include video? This could be the first and last in the series.
Would be interesting to see what will happen, if mint will "fix" low mintage of the 2011 Lady Bug, but imo it will not happen.
They advertise "First of its kind", so for sure they will not return to the old item. The "Ladybug on the grass" in the RCM's add suppose to wake up association with something rare, innovative and goes up in the value.
I am sure it will be a reissue of coins. Possibly a set of Venetian Glass Bug coins or something WWI related. It will certainly be more than one coin since the email referred to a "collection".
The Royal Canadian Mint's ad in the first posting is confusing. October 15th is a Wednesday, not a Tuesday. Either this coin comes out on Tuesday, October 14th after Thanksgiving or Wednesday, October 15th.
Coinsplus, I believe the coin is coming out on Wedneday, October 15 but MC members are getting advanced notice one day ahead of general release. So that MC members can order ahead of the general public.
