I'm selling a bunch of Morgan dollars on ebay for my aunt who inherited a large collection. I am selling a bunch of rolls and don't know where to begin with a price. I wished I knew the grade so I could do a buy it now but I didn't want to misrepresent the actual coins and overcharge either (it wouldn't have sold anyways if I did) basically I'm wondering if someone would be kind enough to check my listings on the rolls and give me feedback before I list anymore. Here is one of them and you can search others I'm selling, the listing number is 291264027525. Basically, I'm wondering if I'm starting too low or will the listing take care of itself via ebay buyers? Thanks. I would also like to know if someone can tell me the grade of the Morgan rolls so I will know for further listings. Thanks.

You're in a tough spot with the rolls. I think your writeups are good. Me, I'd include individual pics of more coins, but there's enough there for the average buyer to see, "OK, I'm figuring on a roll of decent AU coins" and price accordingly. Your starting prices, with that in mind, are not far below true street value. But eBayers are finicky - many buyers will shy away from a $400 start price even though they're perfectly willing to bid $500 on that lot.

No, I can't explain it either.

One thing I have to tell you, though, I can clearly see hairlines on a lot of the individual coins you're offering. Both Trade dollars are hairlined. Both Isabellas are hairlined. At least one of the Columbians is.

These are cleaned coins, and you're calling them "BU."

Thanks ssuperddave!! Sound to me I need to take out and "descriptive" words out of my listing. Let the picture speak for itself and leave it to the more knowledgeable. I went by PCGS grading app and I clearly don't have a clue. Let me go make those revisions on my listing. Do you suggest a starting price for those?

Here's the problem: Offering hairlined coins without mentioning those hairlines puts you in the category of sellers we originate threads about here at CCF. Further, it leaves you open to "Substantially Not As Described" complaints/returns from buyers who couldn't be bothered to study your images, which are quite up to par.

Of course, your own integrity is absolutely not in question here, but those hairlined coins are worth a substantial discount from non-hairlined versions in the same grade. They're going to be difficult to move.

I guess since you can see hairlines, others can see it too. Least the pictures are true and represent the actual coin. They can bid accordingly. I don't know which coins have markings that is consistent with specific coins so I just need to take good pictures- I haven't had too much of a problem with misrepresentation. I think I just need to leave the grading to the knowledgeable buyers. I removed BU on them. Figured since the 2x2 was sold by a seller, that grade was what it was. Maybe I need to pop the coin out of the 2x2's from now on. Thanks for the help. If there are any more suggestion, I am open to hear it.

Lol Shamm probably wasn't the best choice for a seller name. I do see a lot of cleaned coins.

Also, on the 2x2s, I don't believe ebay allows a numeric grade to be in the pictures or description so might want to white them out or remover them from the 2x2s
