Really Weird 1984 DDDd Penny? - Coin Community Forum

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/11/2014 02:19 am That is from the plating being split. This happens a lot on the Zincolns. The plating gets split, air reaches the zinc and starts deteriorating. First raising, then falls inward. Just part of the problem with these during the 1982-89 cents. Seems to not be seen as often on the 1990 forward cents. Very common. Report this Post to the Staff
