Wow. That news just floored me. I had no idea Johnny wasn't well. He seemed like he was so active while putting that SLQ set together recently, and an impressive set at that. His contributions will be missed for sure. nlp

Article: "Sir John fell ill in 2013, and after a lengthy illness went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct. 5, 2014." I am still sorry to hear this. My condolences to the family. I assure you, John's family, Jesus can comfort you in these times of trouble just as He comforted John while he was with us.

Wow...very sad news indeed.
It was Johnny's topics and photos on the no date 1916 T1 SLQ's that got me interested in searching for one, which I eventually found last October after a year of searching.
He was definitely the king of finding those T1 no dates and also his many contributions here at CCF, in posting some great coins for us to view and giving feedback to others on their posted coins.
I did not know him personally, but I feel like I lost Friend.
Vermontensium, I sent you an email so that I may help with a contribution towards the fund for his children.
Thanks, RK

Wow...I am in shock!
John was a true friend that I met through CCF. We are the same age and it was nice having somebody to talk to about coins b/c so many other people my age are not interested. He was always more than willing to help me when I needed help trying to determine a grade or if a certain grade was accurate. I valued his opinion and he always took the time to answer me. I bought several nice coins from him including my 09 svdb. This is a huge loss.
My condolences go out to his family. John will be missed by many.

Tell me it ain't so. Such a knowledgeable contributor and his collection was a sight to behold. I still can't believe he is gone now and at such a young age. My condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

He's a bit younger than me, and I'm not that old! Really sad news. I'm new enough here that I don't really recall him, but as a young father, I can certainly feel a lot of empathy.
It's great that this forum cares enough to notice. That's really neat.
