Bobby. I'm devistated. We went to the Long Beach coin show together about 5 months ago. I can't believe it. He told me he wasn't feeling well from day to day, but he gave me no indication it was life threatening. I was wondering why he wasn't answering my emails :-( I have to go now for a while..

So sorry to hear this. Johnny contributed much to this forum. I would like to make a small contribution to the trust account for Micah and Cameron Brawner at Union Bank. Do others at CCF feel the same? Could we pool funds to a Mod at CCF through PayPal? I will miss Johnny's posts. May he rest in peace.

This is awful. I'm shocked. Johnny was such a knowledgeable and well-respected member of the Community. Rest in Peace.

Brad, I can do this. I knew John personally. I also belong to Union Bank so it should be easy. Bobby, is that okay?

Vermontensium: Please let us know how to contribute. I was going to do it on my own but don't mind at all pooling with my CCF family. Just as an aside: It just tears me up every time I think about it. I was a Facebook friend with Johnny. We discovered we had both spent time in the Air Force and at Edwards Air Force Base. And we both loved his collection! I bought my 1916 Standing Liberty quarter from him since he could find them loose in the wild like nobody!

I too bought a 1916 SLQ from him. It will stay in my collection until it's my time.

He was known to us as Johnny54321. Some of us knew him through our dealings. And some of us had the pleasure of his company. Many of us learned from his experience. And now, we all share in his loss.

Very sorry to learn of this ... Johnny was a well respected member and champion of the 1916 SLQ.
Never met Johnny ... but we will all surely miss him.
Two young kids and a wife ... 34 is way too young to die.

Rest in Peace Johnny I always enjoyed trying to guess the grades for coins Johnny shared--rarely was I even close to the actual grade but I learned thanks to his willingness to share. I bought a well worn 1806 Quarter from Johnny in June of this year which remains the earliest dated federal coin in my collection. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and CCF members who knew him personally. -MV
