I have heard that 1935 pennies are rare and worth a bit of money and I have also heard that of the 1964 penny, I was just wandering if anyone could tell me if this is true and if so how much they are worth. Other dates that I have are 1942, 1943,1948,1951,1952,1953,1956,1960,1962.
And I also have a 1943 half penny.
Any help would be grateful
Thanks David

The pennies that I have are in fairly good condition, by this I mean that they have all mostly got all their ridges and bumps and lumps, none of them are flat or have too many scratches or greeness.
Thanks again for the help

One of the places I use as a checklist for Australian coins, and as a guide for rarity, is this website.

The prices are a little out of date, but it should help you get started. :) The best thing to do is get a copy of Greg McDonald's Pocket Guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes. It's a wonderful little book that's updated yearly. 14th edition came out this year. :) It'll help you if you remain committed to collecting the incrediblel coins of your country.

Hi David, all the dates you mention are fairly common. The 1935 in Fine is listed as $3, or Very Fine $15. An EF 1964 $3, Uncirculated 1964 $10.

Unless they are of a very high grade they are only worth a couple of dollars each.

Welcome to the forum, David.

I hope the 1964 Penny isn't rare and valuable, I've given heaps of them away. LOL
