I recived this note from the bank just before the Euro was introduced and (forgot!!!) to spend it. It's face value was about U.S$250.

I do not know if many were issued since it came out just before the introduction of the Euro.

Can anybody tell me its current value. It is uncirculated.

It is a high face value note that I have seen going for about $450-500 or so. Italian notes are hot right now, I have seen the prices on the old 500 Lire notes from 1961 skyrocket along with the 20000 Lire from 1975 with Tiziano.

Thanks for the info

Seems I was lucky that I forgot to spend it.

Hello Benas

I collect FAO coins since I have been in charge of the Money and Medal Programme of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for the last few years. I am more interested in the albums, panels and boards than the loose coins and I have almost a complete collection.

I also have some ancient coins but not too many.

Since working for the UN 16 years now I have travelled pretty much throughout the world and have picked up a few bank notes here and there. Many of my colleagues have also collected for me.

I have about 800-1000 banknotes from 100 or so countries.
