This is my Liberty Seated half dime type set. It is not your average set. Some pictures are not the best but, they are what I have for now. Obverse types: No Stars 1837-38 1837 Large date PCGS AU-50 Stars, No Drapery 1838-40 1838 PCGS AU-50 Stars, With Drapery 1840-53 1842 NGC AU-58 Arrows at Date 1853-55 1854 PCGS AU-50 Stars, With Drapery reduced weight 1857 PCGS AU-58 1859 Hollow Stars (One year obverse type Philadelphia Mint only) 1859 PCGS MS-64 CAC Legend obverse 1861 PCGS MS-63+ Reverse types: Legend reverse 1850 PCGS MS-64 CAC No Legend reverse 1872 PCGS AU-55 Branch Mints: New Orleans 1855-O PCGS AU-55 San Francisco 1872-S PCGS MS-64 CAC (Mint mark in wreath) I am considering adding an 1860-O, the only year the New Orleans Mint struck a Legend Obverse Half Dime and a Below Wreath San Francisco Mint example. The mottling on the 1854 and 1857 are incredible and offer a real glimpse at what advanced collectors look for in eye appeal versus just blast white sliders in AU graded coins. Really nice. The design of the SL coins has long appealed to me but except to fill in the holes in my type set I've never gotten into them. As I've said elsewhere I don't care for long set since at my age I'd never get them finished, even discounting the rare keys. Same with the Barber sets. Report this Post to the Staff

Kanga, as you are I am at an age where I would not have the time to complete any of the individual series'.
