1853 "J H M" Counterstamped Large Cent

Anybody know anything about this particular counterstamp, other than is was double struck ?

I owned a Large Cent with the exact same counterstamp.
Don't know but probably advertising.

Initials like this are rarely attributed and typically remain "mavericks" so to speak. That said, they can sometimes be attributed when/if another specimen crops up with more information. When time allows, I can post one excellent example of this somewhat back door means of attribution.

Here's a counterstamped large cent with but three initials:

1853-



The W.H.A. was able to be attributed by Dave Bowers, I believe, when the below piece surfaced:

1853-


William H. Atkins was a clockmaker in Ithaca, NY. In 1854, he and one J.C. Burritt man patented a perpetual calendar clock. It automatically adjusted for the leap years.
