Is it safe to assume that in today'sworld any caps from a capped die or significant brockages never get into circulation and are only delivered to the collecting world by mint employees? I just don't see how either could ever make it into circulation through regular channels.

I would say you're correct on that. The days of finding errors that severely disfigure a coin are over. Even less noticeable errors like Cuds are gonna be tough to find I'm sure.

Most are sent back to the mint because they would be found in bins that only certain companies get to roll and return the rejects. If they don't they loose their contract. That is what I've heard.

Several of the big wholesalers do buy Ballistic Bags of coins from the mint and do their own rolls. So some can still get out that way.
