I attended a coin club sponsored show today, and there was an exhibitor there who had a few dozen Morgans out in 2x2's, all labeled "BU" which was pretty laughable, as the overwhelming majority were obviously XF/AU. But they were bargain priced, so I picked out this one which looked like it might grade out MS somethng. Better luster than is shown by these photos, satiny surfaces although a few areas scuffed a bit bright in a manner that looks to me to be typical bagginess.

Looks around MS 60-61 to me. The reverse is most definitely MS. The obverse might bring it down to maybe AU 58.
Rest in Peace

I have to disagree with the details part, unless you think the small gouges towards the bottom of the obverse would merit it. The fields are absolutely UNC satin, the luster is proper, just no evidence whatsoever that it's been cleaned. I think the only grading issue is whether the bright high point scuffs I previously mentioned would be attributed to residing in a bag or brief circulation. I'ver seen a lot of CC's that display such and have nevertheless gotten MS grades (albeit low ones).
