My wife tolerates my CRH obsession mainly because it doesn't cost too much money to fund and she sees the joy I receive from finding silver while scouring through boxes of coins.

Today she comes home and we have the following conversation:

Her: "What is the difference between a 1964 and 1965 quarter?"
Me: "At today's silver exchange rate, about $3."
Her: "Oh is that why the side looks different."
Me: "Yep."
Her: "It sounded weird with the other change."
Me: "That's the sound silver makes."
Her: "Oh... Here you go. You owe me a quarter."

Looks like I've got her looking for silver in the wild for me! Maybe, one day, the CRH bug will bite her as well.

I can relate! My wife used to work in retail, and after hanging out with me occasionally while I was organizing my coin collection, she became curious. We had a similar conversation, and she went on to pull several silver rosies, a merc, and even a couple of wheat cents from the teens out of circulation.

She even went so far as to shop a little on ebay and start a little collection of her own. I'm still trying to figure out how to con her out of her gorgeous 1859 IHC that she got for a steal a couple of years back

Not my wife. As a vault teller being part of her duties banking last 15 years, she has brought home hundreds upon hundreds of silver, copper and old notes. She still has no interest in coin collecting, and never will.

Oddly enough, she was a stamp collector when she was younger.

Excellent!

However, the topic title is a bit misleading. I thought she was going to start collecting foreign coins.

My wife is always looking for me. She also gives me her change to sort through each month.
Rest in Peace

Just wait we she learns more and you cash in. The price you will pay.
Good for the both of you.

think I have a winner, my wife picks up boxes and returns coins and asks for sleeves while returning. I weigh my rolls if they are heavy I let her tear them open, told her I will split my collection with her. and I only do halves and these things are heavy, I am pretty lucky

Mine just asked for the first time last night if she could open some rolls of Halves! That made me excited, up till then it was just my hobby lol. She kept wanting to open more and more till she found something, so far nothing though. I might have to up my half boxes now! Nice to see that she is taking an interest in it finally.
