I bought this coin 1943 S Gold War Time Silver Nickel for 50 cents at a pawn shop. I was wanting an opinion on what you all think about it. I've seen others with a gold tarnished tint but not one this gold. Any input would be appreciated.

Melt for a 35% nickel is about a dollar, so .50c is a nice deal.

As for why your coin is the way it is, maybe someone just messed with it somehow.

It's not an error of any kind. Just an old coin that's been through a lot in its life.

Nice deal, current melt value for these is 98 cents. As for the color, it just looks toned. Not an error of any kind.
Rest in Peace

It is possible that it got plated. Weigh it and see if it's heavy.

One of my sets of Jeffersons has toned quite a bit. Some of them do have a gold hue to them.

Perhaps toned ... perhaps plated ... whatever caused the color you mention is not a rarity.

$0.50 is a great deal. Most places put them in folders and sell for $2 minimum.

That surely was a good deal! May be plated as some have said usually the silver nickels are dark gray in color for the most part.
