I checked out everyone who had a beard (except for Nero). I can't find the reverse legend anywhere, I might be reading it wrong, can anyone help? Report this Post to the Staff

Medieval Pillar of the Community 3772 Posts	Posted 10/23/2014 08:17 am The coin is not in Sear's GIC. The closest match to the reserve on coins from Serdica on Wildwinds is a coin from Julia Domna. The quite clear '...AVPH...' (oe 'AURE') is not much help either when you look at the legends of MA and LV - but I agree with the posters above that it looks like LV. The Moushmov listing doesn't mention it either -> http://www.moushmov.com/serdica.html But on another forum someone asked for attribution help for: Lucius Verus, Serdica-Thrace 24mm. - 9,5 grs AV KAI Î› AVPH-Î›IOC OVHPOC, laureate head right. CEPÎ"Î©N, Tyche standing left, holding ruddr and cornucopiae and the response given was that in can be found in Varbanov Vol.3 Perhaps someone here on the forum has a copy.
