Hello people, I'm from skippy land too. Personally I rarely use coins or banknotes, mainly credit card to get point, but always pay it back. The current coins I have have been in my pocket for about 2 weeks. They consist of one 5c (2012), two 10c (1967, 68), seven 20c (1974, 75, 79, 2* 81, 82, 2010), three 50c (1969, 75, 2001), three $1 (1984, 2010, 2013), one $2 (2010).
I don't buy much crap food. WHat I did buy as follows:
7 kiwi fruit, $2.
1 0.5 kg roast pork, $10 on special.
1 Chai Latte small, $3 trying to get off coffee.
1 270 g cheesecake, $8.
1 375 mL Solo, $2
My partner and I usually eat at cha chan teng (cantonese), and a meal is about 12-15 dollars each.
In Hong Kong, although not pocket change but a trip to see family. It can shed light on coins in circulation. I go there once a year, I usually get all coins. From my last visit to family I got eight 10c (1982, 90, 2*97, 4*98), four 20c (1991, 3* 1995), three 50c (1994, 97, 98), six $1 (1995, 2*97, 3*98), twelve $2 (1993, 94, 3*95, 97, 4*98, 2*2012), seven $5 (1993, 2*1995, 1998, 2*2012, 2013), four $10 (2* 1994, 2* 1995)
Next time I will get some prices, but HK is becoming expensive.
