Well I finally made it to my lcs yesterday and found a 1900
Barber half dollar in their 90% silver bucket. The coin is well used and worn down. In fact it is so worn down I can't tell if the mintmark is either an "O" or "S". There is definitely an indication that there is or was a mintmark there. According to Numismedia there was one three possibilities for this year: No mintmark, "O", or "S". Since there was something definitely something there I believe (via photograde) that it is a rated as g4 and Numismedia values either mintmark at either $18 or $22. I got it for $6.
Planning on adding it to my collection of pocketpieces (suitably protected) behind plastic as part of my rotating pieces that I carry around for show and tell for the kids. I will definitely be subject to updating but not really worth taking a picture of.
I was very happy to find it and at a good price as well. This is the first Barber coin that I've ever seen in the silver melt bucket.
