I think the Dansco albums have a more substantial feel to them. The pages and covers are thicker, I know.

Don't neglect to consider Intercept Shield albums (if they're still made).

They are not.

I am a Dansco fan. Nothing against Whitman though.

Truly the biggest thing is which one do you like better. Both are safe. Whitman is less bulky than dansco, but neither are as bulky as the littleton three ring green binders.

Littleton products are known to tone coins.

If you go to Google and type in coin albums, you would find a lot more listed than you think. However, not a lot of people have used many of those so chances are that even if great, you would not find out.
Myself I'm a Whitman fan. One thing I always hear about Dansco is they look so much like a valuable book. Then hide them away anyway. I dislike no intents to grab the plastic slides in a Dansco. Also, the really poor planing on how many coins it takes to fill an Album. Almost all the ones I've got have empty slots at the end. Makes for a never completed Album.
One of the nicer things about Whitman is the availability to buy extra pages, press on numbers/letters, blank covers, new slides, etc.
Yet one of the great things about Dansco is MADE IN USA. Whitman is now all made in China. And Whitman is really not Whitman anymore. Harris bought them out some time ago so might be one of the reasons now made in China.

One more thing about those Albums. Most Dansco Albums are made to fit the pages for that Album. By that I mean a Mercury dime one has the cover only big enough for those pages. A Whitman Mercury dime Album has the binder large enough to add more pages. Most of their Albums are like that. Bad thing is that takes up more room on a shelf. Good thing is you can put extra pages in most of their Albums if you wanted to. An example is I now have 10 pages in my Lincoln Cent Albums. Therefore have room for all coins from 1909 to present and room for more.

Not true. The smallest Dansco binder holds four pages. The Mercury dime album has two pages, so there is room for two more. Same with Buffalo nickels and Indian Head cent albums, two pages only. I actually have those six pages in a binder than holds six pages.

I used to be a Whitman folder person, and when I was changing to albums bought a few Whitman album at first. They included some varieties and excluded some varieties. I switched to Dansco because the coins included in Dansco albums fit better with my collection.
