Just added Volume 1 and Volume 2 Obsolete Paper Money today. So the breadth and depth of my reference library grows a little more - as well as my own with each purchase.

I've always felt that a library of books and reference works is the best investment a person can make. I've purchased more books this year than coins. I'm working on branching out into the different areas...I'll get there slowly but surely. -MV

of course, I'm at around 1000 books at least by now, not counting the more than 1000 auction catalogs and magazine issues I also have on numismatics! A quick count reveals 42 next to my bed I use all the time or am currently reading/using for research, another 100+ on the bookshelf across the room, the rest I have to keep in storage in an indoor storage unit for the time being. I also have about 50-80 in boxes around the house I need to get up on ebay as they are all extras or duplicate books, from purchases or upgrades I've mede this year.

Lol well I agree on the reference investment completely... and I like a book in hand better than the internet. However the internet is useful as well without a doubt. I am just "old school" as my kids would say.
What areas are you trying to branch out to mv?
Westcoin when you get ready to sell those books announce it so I can see what is up!

I'm trying to branch out into the early US coins series areas where I am lacking in knowledge--Colonials, Half Cents, large cents, Draped Bust coinage, etc. US Currency is another area I'd like to work on. I can't wait to be debt free then I can start saving up for some of the more expensive books I have my eye on.

What books you looking at? I have some very good "used" stores around here that seem to have a nice variety of numismatic books...If I knew what you wanted I'd be happy to keep an eye out for a good bargain.
And pleasure to make your acquaintance... I am scott

Nice to meet you Scott, I'm Bryan. If you happen to see any on large cents or Half Cents or any of the Seated coinage those books are the ones I am scoping out. -MV

You must be buying them all. I've gone to the Goodwill, Salvation Army, Use Book Stores, etc. stores and never find any books on coins.

I am not sure how many people in tulsa area collect so it seems from the books I do find used that if is not many. Or they already have what they want. Good for me either way.

Not sure if anyone has heard of this outfit but I practically get all my coin books from them. They pick up books from collection centres and libraries and sell them for charity. Prices are not lower than other places but they offer free shipping worldwide. http://www.betterworldbooks.com/
