Ok so yesterday I went to my pickup bank, the local BB&T, and asked the teller for $25 in pennies plus 50 in dimes. Which is a very big request for me since I usually only search 30 at the most of any denomination. The teller then tells me "You know I have to charge you a fee for exchanges right?" I then question it and learn there was a 5 dollar fee! This is the first time this has every happened to me in the years I been at this bank. So I have a dilemma, do I continue using a bank where the tellers know me and pay a fee to pickup rolls and boxes or try to find another pickup bank? I have a regional bank in the same city with 3 branches. So has anyone else had this problem at their bank? Any suggestions on what to ask my new bank if I switch when signing up?

leave, there are many banks that dont charge a fee. It's CRHing, "an investment in which it's impossible to lose". So if you get skunked, you lose 5 dollars.] try the other pick up bank

When I switched from the royal bank of canada to a credit union, I found out they charge 25 cents per roll. I have yet to buy one from them.

this is why I cancelled five different accounts. Good luck, if you want to pay.

Greedy bank, find a new one w/o fees for coin orders. I get irritated by banks that charge fees for small orders. Large orders I could understand a reasonable fee, but charging a fee of any kind to order a couple boxes a week is simply unreasonable.

The people that bring them don't do it for free.

I get my boxes from BB&T and have never been questioned nor charged a fee. I has been several weeks since my last box though so I am going to have to test this next week.

maybee it was getting a box of pennies that required the fee? Perhaps I should ask for just rolls.
