The dateless SLQ is very worn and from your pics looks polished as it is very shiny. Can we have a pic of the other side too? We'll need better pics for the 1940, both sides. I can't say for value though, I'm not familiar with US classics.

Hi Chris,

For your Standing Liberty quarter, the exact date is hard to tell. They were minted from 1916 to 1930. However, we can definitely narrow it down a bit! Based on the missing date, we can eliminate the years 1925-1930 (quarters from those years were modified so the date didn't wear out as easily). We can narrow it down even further by looking at the reverse. If there are no stars below the eagle, it was made either in 1916 or 1917.

If there are stars below the eagle, it was made during the years 1917-1924. I can also tell it was minted in Philadelphia, because there is no mintmark. Let us know what the reverse looks like and we can help you further.

For the value, unless it's a 1916, the SLQ is worth it's "melt value" or the value of the silver in the coin. Right now that's about $3. Same for the Washington quarter, melt value.

Best of luck!
