I'm not sure what I'm seeing on the reverse of this coin. Maybe I should say that I'm not sure what to call it. It appears to be the obverse device (Lincoln's bust), but I don't see any detail at all, just a faint/ghost figure. There doesn't seem to be any die abrasion marks indicating that a clash was removed, but that might not be indicative of anything other than a skilled mint worker. Notice the weak strike at the top left corner of the Memorial building. Does that provide a clue as to what is going on?

I know something is there, I just don't know what it is. What do you think?

You see this on a lot of Lincolns, it's common, but I can't remember the name for it.

It is called "progressive indirect design transfer." We often see it on wheat cents. First time I've seen it on a Memorial cent.

Something that I don't have an image of yet. Can I add to my library?

Thanks for your assistance, Coop. You may use the image in any manner you find appropriate. If it doesn't take too much or your time, can you explain how this happens, or can I just Google it?
