The following is a release from the US Mint
US-Mint-Opens-Sales-For-Products-Evergladestional-Park-11/3

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint will open sales on Nov. 3 at noon Eastern Standard Time (EST) for rolls and bags of circulating finish America the Beautiful Quarters® Coins, honoring Everglades National Park in Florida, that have never been in circulation.

Product options and their prices are as follows:

The coins in the bags and rolls were struck on the main production floors of the United States Mint's facilities at Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, while the three-roll set contains coins from all three facilities. Unlike the "P" and "D" mint mark quarters, those with the "S" mint mark will not be released into circulation.

Orders will be accepted at http://catalog.usmint.gov and at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468), while hearing- and speech-impaired customers with TTY equipment may order at 1-888-321-MINT. Please visit the United States Mint website for more information on our new shipping options: catalog.usmint.gov/customer-service/shipping.html

The special numismatic wrapping for the coin rolls displays the name "Everglades National Park"; the abbreviation "FL" for Florida; "$10," the face value of its contents; and "P," "D," or "S" for the mint of origin. The canvas bags have a tag with "Everglades National Park"; "FL"; and "P," "D," or "S.

To me, those "S" mint quarters are the shiny, bright, forbidden apples hanging on the bountiful tree in the garden of Eden. That must make the mint . . . well, you know.
Rest in Peace

However, since the S mint quarters are not being released into circulation almost all of them will remain in BU condition. They will probably not become especially valuable, in fact the regular P and D mint quantities from that year (2012) are also pretty low and they may in fact have more value eventually in BU grades.
