I went through a few hundred pennies looking for one.
Would this qualify as a woody?
It looks a bit different from the Wheat cent woodies that I have seen here. I would call this Tiger's eye, or Jupiter!

Yep, that's a woodie.
I'm always surprised to see one after 1950.
Woodies occurred mostly in the teens.

Nice example! Fairly common in 1980 for some reason. Two sided examples with horizontal grain are scarce - definitely a keeper.

What irregularity(ies) during the minting process causes a LHC to qualify as a woody?
