Found this in a old tin can, stuck to the bottom along with rusty old nuts, bolts and nails. There were a few others inside (30's and 40's). Nearly passed out when "unclumped" this one out the batch!

Things like this make me very happy and sad at the same time (numismatic bi-polarization). This was an extremely nice coin when it was tossed into it's tin coffin to rot (Sad). Then it was found after who knows how many years of decay...rescued! Amazes me you can still find stuff like this. Crazy.

*Damage on the right wheat stalk was caused when I separated the coins... Chalk that up to another lesson learned...

Great find! Glad you had some VC to help it! I don't think it can improve anymore as the corrosion is pretty bad.

Thanks Thad love the VC! I thought about a 24 Hour soak, but I figured it was too far gone to make much more of a difference and I was a lil' impatient as well.

Yes that is quite a find - a tough date with excellent remaining detail. Sure it's corroded but a little conservation/preservation will make this a keeper with a story. Easily XF detail, possibly even AU.
