I just received my 2014 Kennedy sets. The silver ones are honestly my new favorites, but taking the things out of the box to view the reverses was freaky. I had to pry them out with a screwdriver while praying to every diety I've ever heard of. I am now afraid to put them back because this seems to put the casings under stress. Is anyone else having issues taking them out, and if so, what are you doing about it?

They were a tight fit, for sure. I managed to pry them out using my thumbnail, and when I put them back in I didn't press them in very hard. They come out much easier now.

I had the same issue on both the baseball silver and clad coins from what I recall.

Same issue here with trying to remove them from the case. I didn't dare try to use anything but my finger to get them out and when I was done admiring them I put them back in all the way just as they came. I don't plan on removing them from the case to often so I'm hoping the next time I do it will be easier.

Same thing with mine. I had to gently pry three of them out with some leverage, only one came out with just my finger.
I also noticed a lot of lint from the holders on the capsules. Had to blow them out before replacing them.
Like Neo, I do not plan to remove them often.

I had to take out a butter knife for the last one! I felt like I was defusing a bomb!

I used a plastic butter knife to free them all. Some of them were crooked anyway...

Why would you design packaging for a set that makes it impossible to see the reverse of the coin without the use of a butter knife?

Foxwoods, I could not agree more. I think it is ridiculous that you have to exert so much force to remove them just to check out the other side. They should have designed a page inside that could have been flipped to examine the backs of the coins. Just don't understand what they were thinking.

The Mint should fire that guy that design this package and give the a raise to the guy that design the Teddy Roosevelt silver medal package.

Quote: The Mint should fire that guy that design this package... I do not know. I am on the fence with that idea, it could have been worse. Quote: ...and give the a raise to the guy that design the Teddy Roosevelt silver medal package. However, I fully agree with this statement. Even though it may seem cheaper, the presentation is nothing short of brilliant.
