Poll Question
Who else believes this is the greatest set the mint has produced in the last 50 years and has great potential to greatly increase in value!

Personally I believe this set is the greatest thing since "sliced bread", it has everything going for it including low mintage thrown in on top at the last minute before sale. Each of the four coins are now and forever going to be a scarce and unique must have in the Kennedy series. I loved the Kennedy reverse proof and the Enhanced Unc. , Even a low mintage 90% silver Unc. Coming outta Denver mint is pretty darn neat.
Does anyone else have any opinions of their favorite thing to come out of the mint in these last fifty years?

If the rounds came out of their space a bit easier, I might agree w/you -

For those love Kennedy Series then Dctjr80's observation may be true. However, looking at the broader market, things are more blurry.

...The packaging of the set is just plain dumb. Why would you design a presentation case (instructions included) that makes it impossible to see the reverse of any of the coins...
"Nice coins Joe...can you get me a screwdriver so I can see the reverses?"....Duh....
...Quality issues that I have never seen in all my years of ordering from the Mint....unacceptable for a proof/special edition/high premium (not cost) set.
The investment potential for the raw coins is minimal at best....MAYBE the 70's will have a decent chance due to the quality issues.
Full disclosure: I did originally think these were going to take off and ordered 5 sets with a friend ordering me 5 more...5 sets have been returned will ALL 20 coins having seen-with-the-naked-eye issues. The remaining 20 look decent but that would be a 50% cull rate. Not good....my 2 coin clad sets look MUCH better

50/50.
I say that the Lincoln Coin and Chronicles set is one that has maintained its status for five years now.
Look at it this way. I would never consider breaking apart the Lincoln set. While I currently have no intention of breaking up the Kennedy, the thought of putting those coins in my Dansco has crossed my mind. (Right now, odds are it will stay intact, but busting has not been completely ruled out.)

Naah, the proliferation of these "special" sets makes them less special, IMO. The Mint finally diiscovered that its loyal customer base is a cash cow to be explioted. Can't wait for the reverse silver proof set that was hinted at for next year...yeah...yawn. Kind of miss the '70s when all that was available from the Mint was one mint set and one proof set per year, period.

It could be if the mintage stays low enough. It would also depend on who wants this set and feels they "need" it to complete their Kennedy set. Another factor could be how long the series continues. If the 4 coin set is a farewell to the series this could add demand. Additionally, this would ensure we won't see another one of these type coins show up again like in the possible reverse proof set. I would of liked the type coins to be minted at different mints though since we have had a 90% Denver coin and 90% Philadelphia proof before (even though the 64 proof had no mint mark and the 64 Denver coin had the mint mark on its reverse). I'm sure the coins were minted at the facilities that already had the correct equipment to mint the coins so I understand that decision. 2014 W Uncirculated 2014 S Enhanced Uncirculated 2014 D Proof 2014 P Reverse Proof

I feel the "greatest set issued" would be the 1995 Anniversary gold set with the 1995 w silver eagle.

I think the Denver Mint piece in this set might be the one to watch since it is the only Denver Mint 90% silver coin of any regular series denomination since 1964 and being the only Denver Mint proof coin excluding commemoratives. Kennedy half set collectors who are not into the enhanced or reverse versions will need this coin in their normal mint state and proof sets and that coin is not sold outside of this set. I bought one set and am leaving it the way it is and I am not a modern coin collector.

I like the set, bought one and thinking of buying another. Would not put in my top 3 nicest sets
For me the best/nicest modern set would be the 1995/1996 32 coin Olympic set in cherry wood box.
I don't have the set, but hope to someday

@GR58
Yes that Olympic set would be fantastic, I only have the eight piece proof set.

This really should be two separate poll questions. Regardless, I selected 50/50 overall on the grounds that it IS a great set, but I feel not the best. 25th Anniversary ASE set comes to mind as a candidate for best set for me. Also 50/50 on whether it will increase in value. Well, I'm more in the 75/25 camp on that question (75% that yes, it will increase in value).

I haven't had any issue with the packaging, I did have to gently pry them out the first time, but when I put them back in, I didn't press them all the way just 90%, I assume the mint should have listed that as well in the instructions for dumb dumb's (ya know, the booklet that teaches you how to make it stand up) lol. I would guess they tried to secure them more than in the past cause when they don't people scream that they fell out and moved all around in the the box etc. I'm willing to bet that no ones fell out in shipping this time :)
