I have a question/suggestion regarding the selling of ancients on this website. It is great that we are permitted to sell our coins to each other here, but being quite new here myself, I am not particularly familiar with how it works. Actually I have rarely wanted to sell any coins, so I am really thinking more as a buyer. But on the occasion I have popped over to the 'selling section', I have seen few ancients and in fact if ever there were any I would be likely to miss them because of the infrequency with which I check.
So here is my question/suggestion.....because ancients are rather a distinct and specialised subsection of the coin collecting family, would it be at all possible to have a sticky thread here in the ancients section just for those trying to sell or swap their ancients? I would be much more likely to notice what is available and I would imagine I am not the only one in this..
Just a thought anyway..

When selling coins on CCF, there are different categories to list them under. Not currently, but I have seen several coins listed as Ancient.

Oh I hadn't actually noticed that Fuzzy. Perhaps I should just bookmark that link. Maybe my question is more a reflection of how I personally am using the site, which is to have bookmarked this Ancients section and not visit anywhere else! But I wonder how many others are doing just what I am doing and would therefore be far more likely to have their items noticed if their listings were actually here...

I don't think it would be possible to do that. We have a section just for buying and selling. While ancients don't show up all that often there are a few folks VK for example that have sold ancients there.

Lol, VK. Thanks for the tactful hint! I hadn't noticed those links! Now help me once more. Once I click on any of those items, I am brought to a page which also has other links, at the top of the page, to "new listings", "ending soon" etc. Below that there are links for listing categories. Now why are there only a few listing categories...like nickels, proof sets, etc., but no link for just ancients?

I could have sworn I set them for a month? If they were still active the ancients coin auction links would be there. Oh well they are still available and I'll relist them later.

Thanks for bringing that area to my attention VK. I shall be keeping an eye on coins there from now on. Btw. whilst the topic is still alive...can I ask you how the prices you are able to attain by these listings might compare to selling them on a place like ebay? Do you tend to get a fair price?

Eh I've only done buy it nows but I'm open to negotiation. My prices are usually very close to what I originally paid.

Um I don't know if this is the right place to say this, but I have done business on several different occasions with VK and have always had a great experience. His coins while some are rare are competitively priced / valued.
