Hello all,

Ive got this small coin in my collection for a while but I can't place it.
One one side it looks there are three roman I I I . The other side could be an head but aswell an monogram you see alot on reverse from zeno copper coins.

They quality is bad and I don't think I can make the coin look better aswell. Maybe the experts here in this field know more about this small coin?
The diameter is almost 10 mm on the horizantalic area. the coin weights 0,37 grams.

who knows....

It doesn't look like Zeno at first glance. The coin looks as though it should clean up a bit more. You might get more detail if you remove the brown stuff.

I can't tell either, if you can clear it a bit more than we might be able to figure out who it is.

The three lines might be people? Like this type:

My 2nd guess would be a badly degraded imitation of this type.

Thanks all!
I will try to clean it a bit better. But besides the 3 I I I . I can't find anyting on that side. There is no late roman coin with just 3 roman I I I?

I thought the same thing as VK, actually (well, I'm not familiar with the Esty site, so I would've referred to it as Tesorillo 47, but same type anyway). However, IMHO, 10 mm is a bit too tiny for that type (it's tiny even for an AE4, and the type in question is technically an AE3), and the coin is a bit too featureless (though, to be honest, that doesn't mean much for Roman coins of the 5th century).

That said, the right side of the first photo does kind of look like the letters RIA, which is what would've been there if it was in fact that type, so it's not that implausible of a theory.
