I cannot believe what the current bid is on this.

I believe the auction is for the uncirculated version, not the bullion version.

It doesn't have a mint mark, so it is the standard bullion grade coin.

However, I'd suspect the term "Uncirculated" in the auction title has people assuming it is the Collectible version sold via the U.S. mint website. Those sell for closer to $40, have a W mint mark and have a special hand-minting process.

The mint announced that they were "out of stock" on the 2014 bullion ASE's. The people bidding obviously (and erroneously) think that the mint will not be making anymore and the availability will be limited in the future.

I think this is shill bidding by the coin TV shows / networks. Kidding here, but still rolling with it.

Instead of showing comparable coins with the ebay BIN buy it now price, they are going to show actual sales.

Kind of like painting the tape in the stock market that is supposed to be illegal.

I thought of that, but there are so many buy it now ASE in the $20-25 range on ebay. so that seems unlikely to me.

If you look at the bids, you'll see two dimwits are driving up the price against one another. I'm sure there's a psychological condition that causes two people to throw money away like that. Maybe just unbridled, ego-driven, testosterone overload.

Either shill bidding or two bidders for carried away. Not worth more than the usual Melt + $4. Then again, Vette (Along with Centsles, GSC and a few others) are a few of the sellers who get very high prices for their coins.

I'm in agreement with traevin. When I was new to ebay I was the one with the "I'm winning this just to get even with the other guy" trian of thought. Now if I win a auction with my bid good but if not another one will be coming down the line. You watch.

I hear you raststodd. There will always be another coin to bid on for sure. I have been sorry I missed out on a couple of them tho. But 2 out of 100+..that's not bad.
