There's a good chance I will be attending my first ever coin show Sunday afternoon. I have a drs. Appt on Monday, so I'm coming to edm on Sunday.
I'm hoping to attend the show. Can anyone tell me what to expect ? Like how many dealers, what type of coins to expect: bullion/ Nclt silver circulation? What is a dealers junk box and where do you leave your back pack? Also will it be crowded? I'm looking forward to it!

Arrive early afternoon so you get to shop and not just watch the packing up. I will be there Saturday.

@ Zonad, are you a dealer with a table? This will be a learning experience for me. Will there be a place to leave a backpack, while browsing tables? Id think its not good manners to have a back pack around sales tables? Will coin mags be for sale? I'm look forward to meeting people and possible some forum members too.
Any words of wisdom for a newbie's first time: some do's & don'ts? I realize common sense plays a large part of it.

Leave your backpack where you enter with the people take your money. I'm not a dealer. Most dealers are very good if you have questions, but always wait your turn. Don't interrupt if they're talking to someone. Watch how other people are asking to look at the dealers coins.I may stay till noon or so on Sunday and if you like we can meet for a coffee before I leave. Ask almost any of the dealers if they can point me out and then introduce yourself to me.

There is a good variety, maybe 30-40 dealers iirc. Not as much bullion as numi stuff. Hopefully prices on bullion/nclt are a bit more realistic than previous shows.

I'm starting get both pumped and feeling a little shy too. I appreciate the tips Zonad. I think my shuttle bus gets in about noon, slightly before so I'm heading straight over. I hear there's large crowds. Living for 10 yrs in a sm town, I'm not used to crowded places anymore. It's interesting how you lose your nerve when been away from large crowds for a while. I used to live downtown and go to WEM alot. Now when I go to WEM mall, it's almost overwhelming. I'm looking forward to meeting Matt and I'm probably meeting a RDF member, who's been hold coins I purchased in sept. I'm glad I can leave my backpack somewhere safe. I never like having when a settings like this. Are coins set out in display cases? I looked at the list of dealers, on the clubs website. I didn't think it was going to be that many! My name is Roxanne, most people just call me Rox. Currently I'm using a blk walker, until I get my hip replacement surgery done, hence the Drs. Appt tomorrow. I'm pretty short 4'9" , I also wear glasses, don't hesitate to come say hi. It's probably easier, I hate approaching people. Yet I don't mind being approached. It sounds like it will be interesting.
Hopefully there will be large cents to view. I'm in love with the large cent and fifty cent pieces

It was a good show. Roads were OK given the weather that preceded the show. I didn't buy any super treasures but picked up some silver dollars cause I like them more than maple leafs to look at. Stuck around just long enough on Sunday to meet Roxanne and her son and direct her to Pokermandudes table. I was even confused originally at the last show because there are two Matts at the show and the other one is also a poker player. Nice to meet you Pocket Change 50, and best wishes for you hip job coming up. After I got home I bought a few coins on ebay. Here's a good one, I think.

I found a 10c coin with some die cracks at the Edmonton show. It doesn't seem to be listed in my Zoell catalogs.

It was a pretty great show, despite the weather. Saturday was somewhat busy, but not too crowded. Sunday started slow but picked up around noon and stayed strong until half the dealers started packing up around 3:30.
It was nice to meet you, Rox, and to see you again, Zonad! Hopefully I'll see you two again during the March 7-8th show. I'll be set up again in the usual spot.

Wonder if that is possibly cracking in the plating of the chrome on the die rather than "Die Cracks"? Is there a difference?
