Interesting Find From Circulation

Got a DC Quarter today. That's a total of two so far.

The wife tells me she got a nickel in change that looked strange. I'm thinking Buffalo, maybe wartime. Then she said it looked new. Now I'm thinking Canadian. Turned out to be a 1997S Jefferson Proof.

Where the heck did you find that V nickel?

That, sir, would be amazing. Considering wheats were only minted from 1909 to 1958.

2009 Sacagawea.

I bought 250 of them at face value from the mint, and have been spending them all over town.

Wonder if the one I got in change was one of my originals that decided to come back to my pocket.

I can't really say I found this one but it was a close thing.

A guy at work was in the break room plugging coins into a machine but the machine kept throwing a quarter back at him. That isn't all that unusual so I wasn't paying any attention until he threw the quarter on the floor and started digging out another. The quarter didn't sound right and it caught my attention, unfortunately it also caught the attention of another guy in between me and the landing spot of the quarter. He picked it up and then gave the original guy a quarter which he happily used for a twinkie or whatever. Of course he announced that the quarter in question was pre 1964 and silver. It meant nothing to the rest of the crowd and they just looked at him with that "what the heck is the big deal" look we're all so familiar with while he pocketed it. The first guy had no idea where he had gotten it and didn't care, he had is twinkie and so the whole thing was over as far as he was concerned. If I'd just sat down closer to the machines it would have been mine.
