I've had several each of the 2010 "D" Park Quarters in change. D.C. and Puerto Rico D's are rather common in Denver circulation. Not as common as any State Quarter, but enough are around to make it obvious that the Denver Fed branch distributed a lot of them. It's the later four 2009-D's that are fairly rare in circulation. Today's find was a 2009 D.C. P-mint Quarter, the first 2009 "P" coin (excluding a few LP3 Cents) that I've found in circulation.  Quote:Alan Hepler: AU+ Statehood Quarters are everywhere... Today: Busy morning at Mickey D's. Had to wait a bit for my breakfast. The four people ahead of me paid by swiping their cards. I'm so glad they did: I got an XF 1962-D Quarter in my change.  CCF: "What's in your pocket?" Silver |

Nice find!  My recent trips though the McD's drive-thru have been good to the copper hoard. I always get Two Cents change (large sweet tea is $1.08 including tax) and it seems to have been a while since one of those cents was a Zincoln. Maybe I should start giving two bills instead of the dollar-dime combo they are used to.  |

The change jars must be getting raided for the holidays: Here's yesterday's Quarter paired with two from today's change:   Buffalo nickel from the grocery store, LWC from the deli. PS: The Nickel came from an automatic change dispenser. Edited by DNA

Someone probably dumped Grandpa's old change jar into the CoinStar without bothering to check the contents, never seeing the Buffalo Nickel he got in circulation many years ago. Eventually, it winds up in the grocery store register's change dispenser. (so their cashier doesn't see it, either) And there you have it... |

Yesterday: One of the four Cents handed to me in change by McDonald's was a 2002 Ireland 5 Euro Cent. (exchange value = 6.5 US Cents) I also got the first Mount Hood-D Quarter in my change at Chipotle. |

Well, I got a 1940 D nickel in change a while ago. I have also found 1960 with partial steps, and I found a 2 Euro cent piece in atake a penny/leave a penny tray.

got some SBAs from the tellers tray one was a wide rim and one was an 80P

Wow I'm jealously looking through all of these pages with beautifull coinage, and thinking why do I live in the Eurozone... You guys are so lucky  Here in The Netherlands we can only get coins from circulation as far back as 1999  So all this roll searching, and going through the change will not even be an option here unfortuanetly  |

Well ok Svslav I guess youre right in some part  We do have the privilige to get a variety of "different" coins due to the many country's that are involved... which are sometimes pretty cool! But it is really monotone compared to this bombardment of historical coins you guys can find in the US, pretty cool that coins from 1900's are still circulating hahahah that could never happen here[:o) And it's not like I don't check all my change, hahahh after all I'm a coin collector so I go through every single one of them like a hawk hoping to find a new one to add to the collection  I guess my point was only the part of the old historical and nostalgic value, instead of the obsessive hoarderin of coins  just to have the option to collect many old coins since I'm a bit of a frantic for older coins I don't really get that exctited about newer coins, ok enough ranting and back to the collection  p.s. svslav did you get my pm? |

Today: I bought a $7.99 "Ghostbusters" Blu-Ray disc at Best Buy. ($8.54 with tax) One of the two Dimes in my 46 Cents change was a VF 1959 (P)!  Edited by DNA

Yes, we may have coins from recent times circulating in our change, but we still can not find any of the new quarters which are supposed to be out there! And when you look at the prices for some of the European coins from 100's of years ago, I think I would rather collect in Europe. Definitely cheaper for coins which have seen a few centuries or more and in some cases were issued for only a year. After the years, and the melts which had to happen, really how many can really exist in any condition?
