Today: Memorial Day. A day to pay tribute to my grandparents, buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Both served in WWII (my grandmother was an Army nurse). I started saving silver in 1982, because my grandfather told me silver would "skyrocket in value someday". When I got a 1964-D Quarter in my change today, I felt like he was smiling down at me from heaven.  Thanks, Granddad  |

Just got a 1943S nickel in change today from Costco of all places.
First find in a long time, not many old coins left in circulation here in Palm Springs, CA (relatively new city)

Looks like the coin store has stuff coming out of their ears right now. I made a purchase there today and received a 1980-P in mint state (most likely cut out of a mint set), and a 1990-P (looks prooflike?).

Two 1914 wheaties in the span of two days. Such an odd date to find; usually it's 1916, 1917 or 1919.

found a 1956 nickel a couple days ago. Has good details but with a few small gouges on the obverse. Sort of ended my dry spell.

Pulled a 1937 Buffalo nickel from my pocket when I got home from work today. I'm not sure exactly where I got it, maybe from the convenience store or the bowling alley where I ate lunch. But I usually don't go through my change until I get home in the evenings. Any way, if anyone would like to see pics they can be seen in This Thread I was really excited  |
