Interesting Find From Circulation

In my previous post I was joking about Monaco coin, but this is what I got in today's change. It was a great week for circulated coins

Don't be so sure. I live down in Oklahoma and I worked at a small rural gas station for a couple of years and I have found hundreds of interesting coins at work, in change, in coin rolls and at the Coinstar machine. The oddest must have been an 1861 British half penny. A customer paid for their beer or smokes or whatever with a handful of change, and in that change was the half penny. It is about the size of a quarter, so I accepted it as a quarter and paid a quarter for it. It is well, well worn but the date is clearly legible. I've also found Indian head pennies, steel pennies, hundreds if not a thousand wheat pennies, a V nickel, several Buffalo nickels, War Nickels, about 40 silver dimes (I had a streak going where I found about 30 in a month), a Barber dime (in the Coinstar machine), silver quarters (including a 40% silver bicentennial quarter, which is the only quarter that has ever been minted in 40% silver, Franklin halves, 40% halves, silver certificates and United States Notes, and, the best find I've made so far, an 1884-O Morgan dollar. I knew the guy who worked at a convenience store and I had him stick back unusual coins for me and one day he had the Morgan. At first I thought it was an Ike but then I noticed the silvery sheen. I was quite pleased with my $1 purchase that day.

Bugo- it seems like a lot of the best finds come from rural areas. My uncle knows a guy (the person who introduced him to CRHing in 2009) who, back in the 70s, was driving through Tonasket, WA, a small town in Okanogan County, and stopped at a small bank there. He asked if they had any halves, and the teller said they had a box that had been sitting around for years. He left with $500 of BU 1967 halves.

Yeah, I have found and continue to find most everything you mentioned too.
My oddities are even island country finds, British, some European countries, and Australian coins too.

But "Monaco", ?-?-?-?... THAT would be a crazy find for me here in Kansas.
Namely, it's such a tiny tiny country, that the mintage numbers even for THEM must be like 4 or 5 hundred coins per denomination ! --- (kidding of course, but can't be very much)
Even finding one in Europe couldn't be TOO common....much less here in the U.S.....and even less so here in Kansas l.

I was really just relaying a story, so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but asking around doesn't hurt. Ask your bank tellers, and maybe try to get some rolls from the bank as well.
