Don't know if this counts as circulation - but I got a 2009-P US Virgin Islands quarter in the jackpot machine on the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship during a cruise around the Greek islands! It was the last 2009 P+D quarter I needed for my collection.

Quote: ...on the Norweigan Dawn cruise ship... I actually took a cruise on that exact ship many years ago, and I do remember there being a casino in there but I never knew it dispensed US currency until now! To make a long story short, that cruise I went on never made it to its destination because it broke down so I got stuck in Virginia rather than the Bahamas!

I have the casinos in the Carnival Victory and Majesty of the Seas to thank for helping me fill out my State Quarter and ATB collection. The only place they use quarters is in the quarter pusher machines, so they have change dispensers. I don't gamble, but on my two cruises on these ships I would change out a few hundred dollars into quarters and filling the gaps was really easy, and when I was done I could just take them back to the counter to change the rejects back to bills. I live in western Canada and it is a bit tougher to find the P-mint quarters where I live, but I got lots there!

what an awesome thread! Today's findings for me was from a convenience store, Kennedy half's 1980-P, 1984-P, 1996-D and one presidential "Abraham Lincoln" 1$ coin.

1949 Jeff. My pocket pieces are 2014 Kennedy half and the oldest quarter & nickel I've found in circulation. So the 1949 will replace the previous winner, a 1953. Or I may keep both as I can't seem to want to spend the '53 I'm also up to 3 1965 quarters, will need to think about doing something about those...

Neat. It's not often that you see Ikes in circulation. Unless you want to keep some or all of them, I suggest looking at this thread.

1941 Jeff at Lowes yesterday (turns out the 1949 was really a 1940) so now I have to have pocket-piece-war. [I tried to get them to play rock paper scisors, but no takers]

My first find worth mentioning in a VERY long time happened today- I got a 1910 wheatie at work, one of the oldest pennies I've found in circulation!

So today I was at a subway, so as normal at any store I observed the tip box. I saw a weird new coin, a 2014 Indian 2 Rupee. Then I had to choose what I wanted on my sandwich. Means my mum munched away at a table. I went back to buy a bottle of water since we were parched, and that's when I noticed George's head staring at me. It was right on the top! Almost missed him, but he's mine now xD haha! 80% silver, 20% copper
