Today I received a 2009 Guam quarter and another bicentennial quarter.
Very nice!

I received a 1947 S Lincoln Cent from a store the other day. Not terribly uncommon but it put a smile on my face

I love it when I get a Wheat cent. Am I the only one who hangs onto copper pennies? I know there's no point in it, but my grandpa told me to, so I still do.

When I go through a roll, I'll pull them out. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with them. But for now I'm holding on to them.

Nope. I keep them, too. I do not want to see them melted for scrap.

I found a Jefferson nickel while cleaning my house. I'm new to this and I know nothing about this coin I actually came here in hopes of finding out more about it. If anyone reads this and can tell me something PLEASE do. It's got patches of copper scattered on both sides it's about 50% copper colored and 50% the regular nickel color. I think it's a 1979 but I can't really tell because half the numbers and a few letters r missing. and it has a " Cud" at the top of Jefferson's head (I think that's the right term) and it's got one or two indented "pockets" that look like maybe there was a air bubble in the metal when it was struck? It also has what looks like a crack at the top of the memorial building on the back. I dunno. It has multiple different errors. hELP!

Welcome to the forum RealEyesRealize. You've come to the right place to find answers to your questions.
If possible could you post pictures of the front (obverse) and back (reverse) of the coin? This would help greatly in determining what is going on with it.

So, my dad has this tub of quarters in his room that he keeps around for various reasons. Recently I went through them to help fill I missing dates for my and my mother's ATB Quarters books and found something I doubt I will find in circulation again. A non-proof 2014-S Arches quarter. I am so excited!
