I have one. My dads girlfriend runs a cash register and someone paid for their stuff with $11 in silver halves (thats 22 if you are up late reading this). She got them at face value and gave them to me. They range between 1940 and 1962.

I am fairly new to collecting and just started because I work a drive thru job every sunday. I thought it would be cool for my son and help me pass some time. Today my finds were a 1943 and a 1957 nickel. Ive basically only been keeping wheat pennies and any of the new nickel designs but recently started looking at the dates. Not sure how good those nickels are but though they were pretty old. I also keep susan Bs, any 50 cent pieces, and any canadian money.

2 - 1970 S Pennies. Thought it odd to get two in one day, at the same time!

Found this yesterday- love this picture posting thingy- thanks to all who helped me figure it out! My co-worker and I have a bet going on this coin's country of origin, there's donuts at stake here! Thanks for any help! I won't say what I think it is just in case I'm totally wrong... I believe it is Russian, but I'm not a 100% sure.

Here it is for you Kyra: The 10- and 50-kopeck coins are disc-shaped and have the respective diameters of 17.50 mm and 19.50 mm. They are made of a yellow-coloured copper-zinc alloy and have a milled edge. All coins have a protruding edging on both sides. In the centre of the obverse side of the 1-, 5-, 10- and 50-kopeck coins is an embossed image of St. George the Warrior on horseback killing a serpent with a spear; the circular inscriptions to the left and to the right of the image read (this did not post as it was in cyrillic); below is the mint year 1997. Under the front left hoof of the horse are the Cyrillic letters M (Moscow) or C-II (St. Petersburg), indicating the city where the coin was minted. On the reverse side of the coins (right of centre) are their denominations (1, 5, 10 and 50) with the inscriptions (this was in cyrillic) and (this was in cyrillic) underneath, and in the lower part of the coin and along the left edge is stylized branch. The page I found it on: http://russian-coins.ru/russia_1997.html
