The fifty-cent coin in the thread above is the 2006 commemorative, we were talking about the 2006 standard coin. It's easy to get confused as the Royal Australian Mint really outdid themselves with releases this year. Just so you could see what we are talking about, I have included the pictures from the R.A.M. website of the coins we are hunting.

Gary: That question was a quote from Buffaloboy not me. I personally adore the Aussie coins and am thinking about taking a turn of collecting them almost exclusively!

Snooba: Thanks for posting the correct .50/piece.

I picked up my second "Mob of Roos" yesterday...a 1985. I was hoping for the Rabbit ear for another member but, it wasn't so I'm keeping it. Now I have a whopping 2 of them - 84 and 85!

Thanks guys for explaining the significance of those two coins since I find Australian coins one of my favorite foreign coins for
1.their beauty
2.The richness of the design itself

You can tell I just came home from school

Debbie, Sorry. If you go back to that post you can see why I was confused.

Anyway, great coins!

Oh Gary I DO understand. I've had the same problem's when other's apply quotes. It does get a little confusing as to who says what! And I hope that BB isn't offended but, I wouldn't phrase something that way. Sorry BB! It's just "style". ;-)

And...while this wouldn't be any great shakes for a Canadian but, I got a brand spanking new 06 Cent in change today. The thing looks like it just came out of a bank roll from the mint. It's a keeper!

I'm still adding U.S. Cents to my 97 years of Lincoln too. I'm almost done except for finishing off the earlier dates! There are a lot of pre 82 coppers still out there!
Rest in Peace

I started my Canadian Cent collection in the 1960's, and once in a great while I'll find one in circulation to add to the collection.

Regarding Canadian, it wasn't from circulation but I received a beautiful Wolf dollar from sn31 recently. It's one of my favorite coins now, but will probably give it to my oldest son because he likes wolves, and collects various items with wolves depicted on them.

All I've been able to find this week is one lousy Wheat cent. Have I found all the goodies to be had around here? Hope not...
