Great idea.

Wish we had a $2 coin.

Maybe one day we'll get rid of the paper dollar.

I count all of the change drawers at work (8) and I get silver dimes and quarters all of the time, usually early sixties or late fifties. Nothing great, but silver none the less!

BB: They're talking about the 2006 issue Aussie's! The $2 is the "Mob of Roos"! Here's your answer on the 50 cent piece: https://goccf.com/t/6901

Yes I do work at a bank- good guess! I try to educate my co-workers about what to look for, but eventually I have to start fighting them for the goodies. That's why I haven't had anything worth posting for a while, someone keeps beating me to it!

Sent the girls to DQ for a blizzard, gave them a 10 spot, they threw change up on the counter when they got back. I noticed one of the coins looked funny, got my glasses, and it was a VF 1943-S merc dime....

Deb, I just like them! The 2006 $2 has an aboriginy on the reverse, and the 2006 $1 has kangaroos on the reverse. I think they are very attractive coins.

I really like the Australian 50 cent pieces, and thanks to Triggersmob and others I now have quite a few. I would like to collect them by date and mint, and would like to find a folder or album to keep them in.

I should add that I have also received a 2006 $1 coin celebrating 50 years of Australian television. Also a very nice coin.
