Great idea.
Wish we had a $2 coin.
Maybe one day we'll get rid of the paper dollar.

Two $2 2005 coins, nothing amazing there, except that they look like they left the mint yesterday, might pass a unc.

I count all of the change drawers at work (8) and I get silver dimes and quarters all of the time, usually early sixties or late fifties. Nothing great, but silver none the less!

Sent the girls to DQ for a blizzard, gave them a 10 spot, they threw change up on the counter when they got back. I noticed one of the coins looked funny, got my glasses, and it was a VF 1943-S merc dime.... MM

"Whats so great about 2006 $2 coins and 50 cent peices if I may ask." --dsking
Deb, I just like them! The 2006 $2 has an aboriginy on the reverse, and the 2006 $1 has kangaroos on the reverse. I think they are very attractive coins.
I really like the Australian 50 cent pieces, and thanks to Triggersmob and others I now have quite a few. I would like to collect them by date and mint, and would like to find a folder or album to keep them in.

I should add that I have also received a 2006 $1 coin celebrating 50 years of Australian television. Also a very nice coin.
