Nothing recently, except for wheaties, but I have received a '26 Buffalo nickel before, and when I was a delivery driver, a lady at one of my stops almost gave me a 1$ silver certificate as change, still bothers me she noticed it was different, and that was 5 years ago, when I was only collecting wheaties I got in change, imagine if I had the bug like I do now, my head probably would have exploded, and ruined the certificate

Wow, 20,000 "reads" for this thread.

I hoped it would be successful when I started it, and it appears that's the case!!!!

I can't claim it, but a clerk at a convenience store showed me tonight what she had found during her eight hour shift. Silver dime, silver quarter, Canadian dime.

Not bad.

something interesting, a dominican republic 1/2 dollar with 3 faces on obverse...my nephew gave it to me, I guess his mom got it at the bank when she was cashing her check and the teller obviously wanted to get rid of it...it will make a good addition to the foreign coin collection!

hmmm, lots of stuff this week. 1942-D wheatie in VF, 1920 Wheatie in F, 1944 Wheatie in VG, and one of those hollowed out magic coins w/ an english penny on one side, and a JFK half dollar on the other in a half dollar roll.

the coin roll attack continues...

ok, searching pennies will probably never result in any long term wealth, but who cares. its fun! here is my penny finds from this past weekend:

56D
56 (this one is in strangely amazing condition...)
x3 54
53D
x2 52d
51d
48
46
x2 45
44
43 (steel! so cool.)
41
36d
36
35
34
x3 29
x5 26
25
20
19
18

and its not major but strange to find in rolls...x3 1909!!! I was pumped. needless to say, I buy a lot of rolls of pennies. however, one roll had 8 wheats in it, and 3 of them were the 1909...wierd.

nickels: 1943P and 1945S War Nickels, silver.

canadian:

1977, 87, 2001 nickels

1960, 72, 73, x3 87, 91, 04 pennies.

about $60 worth of coin to get this from 2 different banks. I think I found that the one small town bank I go to is producing all these great finds. also, the coin rolls that are sealed on both ends (by a machine?) seem to have better stuff because perhaps they arent hand rolled and cant be cherry picked before wrapping? am I right?
Rest in Peace

Wow!, thekurt, that must have required a lot of searching time!!

My wife and I looked through about $170 worth of nickels, dimes, quarters, and other stuff last night, and sorry to say found very little. We usually just briefly scan the cents, and then hoard them.

One thing we did find which was encouraging was 10 Sacagaweas and five SBA's. Since they came from circulation, it means at least a few people are using them for transactions. Also found six JFK's.
