I found a 1990 five pence piece at work the other day. We had been moving some office furniture and it was under a cabinet. The coin doesn't say what country it is from, but Queen Elizabeth 2 is on the front. I assume it's British. It's the size of a US dime but thicker.

Reverse details- It says "FIVE PENCE" on the upper part near the rim. There is a picture of a crown over some sort of thistle like plant... than the number 5 appears at the bottom.

HA!!!! I FINALLY found something in circulation. A 1943 Mercury dime and it looks like someone has been taking care of it for most of that time. I know it ain't much but it was a pretty cool little boost when I looked at my change at the end of the day and found that critter.

Mila_cent - I picked up my first 2007 Lincoln the day before yesterday. (D rather than P, though.) I was paying for morning coffee (and this is my 2nd post in a row mentioning coffee) and I noticed a very bright cent in the little "penny cup" by the cash register. There wasn't a line behind me so I took a dime out of my pocket and exchanged it for 10 cents. I picked up three essentially uncirculated 2007 D cents and one 1968 Canadian cent (this is in Texas).

RenaL would find this interesting. I was just at a convenience store, and the clerk said she had found a coin which she thought was Russian. It wasn't. It was Turkish. I only got to see it for a few seconds but I think it was a 50 Kurus? The clerk didn't want to part with it, so I didn't get it, but I find it interesting that a coin from Turkey would show up in Delta, Colorado.

Really an "Interesting Find From Circulation" The letters of the inscriptions of a Russian coin are very easily distinguished. TR letters may only have some dots over or below the letters of the English alphabet. I've heard many stories that some "smart" guys try to use 50 YKr, and 1 YTL as 1 and 2 Euro coins, so I wouldn't be surprised if that coin was in a German clerk's hands. But in Delta Colorado? Maybe some collector decided they have some extras
