Yesterday at Wally World a 1968 Panama 1 Centesimo, today at Meijer a 1957-D Wheatback. That is the third wheat in three weeks.

Got a 1959 nickel out of change from my coin dealer yesterday. Not the best, but somewhat uncommon.

I got a 1940 Jeff nickel in change a couple of days ago, it was VF!

Got a 1942 type 1 Jefferson at the Steak and Shake a couple days ago I would grade a nice F-12. Exactly two days after buying one at my dealer because I could never find one in my roll searches ! D'OH !

I've gotten two of the scotch and soda coins so far. (one with a peso, the other with a british penny)
Ruined the first one before I learned you can just shake them up in a glass to get them apart.
Both times, it was the coin counter the found them for me, despite the fact you can't mistake that thud sound for a real half.

Gatzdon--you're right about the thud they make. It's almost like a slug of lead hitting the table. When you buy the scotch & soda it comes with what they call a 'bang ring' and it makes getting the two halves apart very easy and will probably make it last longer compared to shaking it in a glass. While I was sorting the stuff in our stores cooler someone came into my convenience store and bought a pack of cigarettes for about $5. He paid with an Eisenhower dollar...and four Peace dollars. *double take* Wha?!? Yep, three 1922 and one 1923. All circulated condition. The other clerk said he looked like a 'college age stoner.' This is almost exactly the description given for someone who last Thursday bought a pack of cigarettes with a 1950ish blue seal $5 bill. Hmmm.is someone dipping into Grand(pa/ma)'s mattress? Update: I guess I should also say that I got the Peace dollars. But the other clerk got the $5 bill. I told him to go to the coin store and see if it's worth much more than face value. If not, I said I'd buy it from him. I think it was 1953. Edited by magusxxx
