biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 09/22/2007 8:38 pm I went to the bank this morning looking for half dollars and was dissapointed when they didnt have any. The teller asked me if I wanted any dollar coins instead and I told her to give me twenty. I saw her grab several from her change tray and the other tellers and then proceed to lay out an assorted mix of Sackies and Pres dollars. The last coin she put down was an SBA, I glanced at it and immediately noticed that it was different- it was a proof. I cringed as the teller slid all of the coins across the counter and I scooped up the others and put them in my pocket while gently cradling the proof. It was a 1979 proof that had seen a bit of handling- some finger prints, mirror scuffs, and coinage dings were present. I then glanced at the mintmark and all of a sudden... It was a TII Clear S proof! For confirmation, I compared it with my TI Filled S and it was definitely different.
