The King's cheek and lower obverse field is way too baggy. Not a 65 unless you send it to some overgrading TPG.

1948 - 50 Cents is one of my favorite coins. IMO ICCS MS62 and would lean towards MS60 before MS63. Hopefully I am wrong and it's much better in hand for the sake of the buyer. I usually buy high grade key date coins only if they are certified or I personally know the seller. Their value changes significantly with a difference of one grade point.

Who's the idiot who bid $600 on a coin that trends for (at best an ms63) $500.00?
Oh boy...some educated and on-the-ball buyers out there!!

wireman, I am totally on the same level for my personal collection. However, I buy anything if the right opportunity comes along simply to dump on the bay.

@47P7 If the right opportunity comes along most of us are always looking for a good buy.

Maybe a 62.... yeah, these types of listings are always a disappointment.

There also appears to be wear above the ear.

There is no way that is a MS 63...as mentioned, way too baggy and far too many contact marks...maybe a MS60-61

I'm amused by this sellers listings, so many coins TPG'd by a dead dad but we never see the holder. After the first thousand coins you'd figure the seller would be able to offer his own opinion and not have to rely solely on dead dad's opinion for impartial third party grading.

For a while the Phrase "from my fathers collection" was absent. I asked if the seller run out of coins. Someone here suggested: for now. The poster was right. it started again. I am wondering if anyone from this forum knows who the seller is, or has purchased from the seller. Might just be worth it to buy a piece to find out.

Just do a Google search of "Who is ( insert sellers name ) on ebay? "

I looked at one other item and it looks like Quote: "from my father's collection" was substitued with Quote: "from my (space) collection" Also stating that Quote: ( The vinyl holder it was kept in says 1946 50c MS 65 Cam)
As coin grading is subjective all grades that were assigned by dad are based on his opinion only. The same grade by a third party grading company will not be guaranteed . So, the grades were assigned by her father on the vinyl cover and NOT graded by a TPG...so how is she getting away with listing a specific grade in the title. Also, cannot guarantee that a TPG would assign it the same value. Also, there are many recent coins for sale. So, I don't believe it is someone just selling off an old collection. It would appear that the listings are meant to be misleading.

All I will add is that you should be aware and tread lightly , of ANY seller on ebay WHO has private feedback , IS both a buyer and a seller under the same account, AND has a "story" to go with most listings. The whole idea and spirit of ebay is above board honesty and transparency.
