I just picked this up on ebay but I'm a little nervous because of the price:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/35121189210...RK:MEBIDX:IT

According to the NGC price guide this should be a ~$130 coin. I checked the cert number through NGC and it appears to be the same coin as the NGC photos (toning on obv in same spots, etc.) What makes me cautious is that the sold listings on ebay in this price range are all details coins. I figure I either got a great bargain or will find out sometime in the future that this $50 is part of the 'cost of my education'. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nope, you just got a good buy... Graded world coins at auction can sometimes be purchased extremely low... Also, a very reputable seller, I have numerous coins in my collection I bought off of them!

Nothing wrong with it, including price.

NGC prices can be inflated so you should take it as a grain of salt.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm excited to get it now! Been wanting one of these for a while, just too afraid to buy a raw coin with problems I didn't know how to look for.

The beauty of such 5 kopek is that they are still affordable if you aren't looking for mintmarks and varieties. These were minted in millions and despite various historical events that would have seen many of them melted down - there's just too many of them. Some call them hockey pucks, paperweight, 'legal weapon' etc.

Now if you would like to see a big collection of 5 (and 10 kopek) coins, please feel free to check this link out. Not my collection but very very impressive. Warning - plenty of images!
