EF-40. But it's probably in an EF-45 or potentially even an AU-50 holder.

I will say EF-40. It's nice to see one without a great big scratch on it.

VF35, even though I've never seen one before so no idea how to grade them.

Well, I know PCGS isn't known for grading Canadian coins the best but to be this far off is surprising... AU53 PCGS... Cant get the full image to load at the moment...

Looks like a nice die clash on the reverse... The portrait of the queen is poking through nicely.

wow... maybe I should send all my coins to PCGS. I guess all my ICCS AU55s will get to be 62s and 63s? would be nice getting rich over night.

can anyone explain how to recognize the difference between AU 50 - AU 53 and AU 55?

Woops I didn't see that you posted the grade. AU53 seems a little high. If they had said EF40 or 45 (because of that luster) I wouldn't have been shocked. But I think 53 is a little too much

Based on Pcgs grading philosophy this probably is a 53 in their minds ( I do NOT agree). Coin does have some eye appeal and is a scarcer date ,and shows some colour. This all falls in line with the US TPG market grading concept. I would certainly pay EF money for this nice piece.
