I routinely search the internet for counterfeits hiding in plain sight. I ran into a very nice one earlier today.

Emergey-Issue-1792-Chile-8R-With-George-III-Stamp.

This coin sold as genuine in 2010 for 900 pounds ($1426).

The owner needs to buy my book before he makes the same mistake again. The coin is a Sheffield Plate Class 1 very well known type.

Anyone care to enumerate the myriad of mistakes visible on this one. You would have to be blind to think it could be genuine.

I am seeing an untypical bust, grossly cut and slightly oversized letters and numbers in the legends, and the numeral '2' in the date missing a tail which all genuine examples have.

At this point most people that have the GNL Book know the most desirable Type 1's to collect are these counterstamp issues and even better the octagonal types ... the only problem is you have to pay regal prices <LOL>. It hurts ... <LOL> ... I meant in the pocket book ...

The price here is a real stretch. I have three examples one better and two not as good but I would not go over a couple hundred. Fourteen hundred is too high.
